проблема с запуском gs из-под fig2pnm

gs'ы, запускаемые из-под fig2pnm выходят грязно, ругаются, гадят в $TMPDIR... Думаю, что это все оттго, что их обижают SIGPIP'ом, закрывая раньше времени fd (хотя, вроде, все уже прочитано?). Что-то я пока не уверен, как эту проблему надо правильно решать.
